When your getting started in affiliate marketing and
internet marketing in general, your going to need a
hosting account and the following are the things to
look for when deciding which one to go with.
You will need this because although you can send your
affiliate traffic directly to the merchants sales
page, You are only building that merchants list for
the long term and doing nothing for your own long
term success.
What’s the better way?
The better way is to direct traffic to a squeeze page
with an optin form to join your list.
After they join your list you can redirect them to
the sales page of the product your promoting.
Yes, there are free hosting sites and free blogs, but
in the end these may cost you much more since it does
not look very professional and could destroy your
credibility.
Not only that many of the free blog services out
there are only for personal use and do not like you
doing business with them.
Having your own business website means you need a
hosting account.
These are a few things to consider and keep in mind
when choosing your hosting account…
- Choose Linux based
- I recommend cpanel hosting
- Something that comes with Fantastico - this will
allow you to create a Wordpress blog on your domain
at the click of a button. (Wordpress is great for
business because you can customize it with all sorts
of themes and plugins and the search engines love them).
- You want to make sure there customer support is
excellent.
- how many domains can you host? unlimited?
- how many email addresses do they allow?
- What is the uptime statistics?
There are other things to consider if you are more
advanced but these are the things the beginner to
intermediate marketer needs.
You can get all this easily for under 10 dollars a
month.

Membership websites can be a very lucrative business. Most of the big Guru Marketers have a membership site in place. Why do you think that is? Lets take a quick look at the math…
Let’s work on small numbers let’s say 250 people sign up for your membership website and let’s say you’re recurring monthly fee is $47 x 12 months = $564 then times that by your 250 people equals a staggering $141,000 per year.

My advice to you would be not to choose a niche for a membership website just because you think you’ll make money from it.

Now I’m not suggesting you don’t use other search engines I am suggesting to use Google as your primary one.
Once you have found these sites in your niche read through their content carefully, a percentage of their content, usually around the 20% mark will be free, to entice potential customers to sign up.
If you think that you could do a better job than your competitors in your niche then you’re off to a good start.

Internet Marketing - Why Build a List and
How Do I Start?
When people are new to Internet marketing, they often get started in the wrong direction. Sometimes, it’s the promises made of untold wealth and freedom that catches them and they wind up in a dead-end program where only the founders make any real cash. Or, they get caught up in the hours of clicking it takes to advertise on traffic exchanges which for the most part, aren’t very effective. But it’s hard to break away from the excitement and from what you’ve been told. So, if you’re one of those Internet marketing people, it’s time you realized the most important part of any Internet marketing business.
You won’t succeed without a list.
Getting a list is the most important job any Internet marketing person has. Without a list, you’re just another person out there trying to sell something. People are sure you’re out to cheat them, and it’s hard to sell anything at all. People don’t know you, and if they can’t trust you, you won’t make much money.
You can’t ignore list building, and it should have been your first priority when you moved into the Internet marketing world. If you haven’t started list building, you need to do it–today!
The first step is to buy a domain. It should be a name that’s easy to remember and that fits your niche. Your next step is to get an autoresponder service. The main concern here is deliverability. Will your email arrive at its destination? With spam filters in effect today, if you don’t have a great autoresponder, your email marketing efforts won’t be very effective.
After all of this is in place, you’ll need to build your first squeeze page. But don’t worry. It’s nothing more than a few bullet points, which provide the benefits of your offer, and and opt-in form, which you get from your autoresponder service. Images of yourself or of something you’re giving away in exchange for getting people’s names and email addresses work well, too. When you’re done with this step, you upload the squeeze page, and you’re ready to build your list.
All Internet marketing success rests on the size and responsiveness of your list. You need to gather a group of people who know and trust you, and who are grateful for the knowledge you can give them about your niche. When they get a recommendation from you, they’re more likely to take you up on the offer. If you follow through with the steps above, you’ll have your list growing in no time. All you have to do is concentrate on sending some traffic to your page. Then, not only your list will begin to grow, but your Internet marketing business along with it.

Choosing a domain name is like choosing the name of one of your Children. It is important because you and your customers will be using this name every single day.
So what are the things to keep in mind when choosing this Internet identity?
* If you already have a company name, you will want to try and include it in your domain name.
* Your domain name should be descriptive of your website and what it offers.
* Include keywords that you would like to rank for in the search engines. include at least one keyword but if possible 2.
* keep the domain names as short as possible. by doing this it will keep down the misspellings as well as make it easier for your prospect to remember and to type it in.
* Go with the .com option. it is the one that most people try when they are searching for something. It also gives the idea you have been around alot longer.
* Register your domain name for at least 2 years or more. Search engines like to see that you plan on being around a while.
* Register common misspellings and point them all to your main website.
Once you have come up with a few options go to a domain registrar and type them in to see if they are available. I like to use GoDaddy because they have been around a long time and have given me good customer service.
If the domain you chose is not available then the registrar will usually give you some other ideas. Use those ideas to brainstorm more options.
By taking the time to choose a great domain name, you will be taking one of the steps in laying a firm foundation for your online business.

When planning your business for Affiliate Marketing one of the
most important steps that could make or break your business
is choosing a niche that will keep your interest as well as be a
long term winner in terms of amount of traffic and profits
you can generate.
Start with asking yourself these questions…
- What do you enjoy doing?
- What are you good at?
- What do other people say you are good at?
- What hobbies do you have now and in the past?
Write these down on a sheet of paper, then narrow it down to
your top 3-5 ideas.
- Health and Wellness
- Finance/Business
- Relationships
If you are having a hard time narrowing it down, you may
want to stick to the some of the most profitable niches which are …
So find something in these 3 areas and drill down to “Nichefy” it.
How do you do that?
Take those ideas and go to Google Adwords keyword tool.
There you will put in your topics and click on use synonyms
and it will give you a long list of keywords and their search
volume for the month prior and the average search volume
in the last 12 months.
Look for at least 100 searches a dayor approximately
3000 searches per month or more.
The second thing you want to take notice of is how much
competition there is for that niche topic or keyword.
Find out how many competing pages there are with that
particular keyword by typing it into Google with quotes around it.
Then look at the top of the page in the search results and
see what the number says.
Look for 30,000 or less.
This will make it easier for people to find you and
easier for you to show up on the first page of the
search engines.
The other thing to do with your niche topic is to put
the topic in Google and search with “+ affiliate program”.
This will give you an idea if there are enough
products in that niche that you can be an affiliate
for.
Once you have found your niche topic you are ready to
go to the next step which is…

Getting started online can be daunting and can overwhelm you in the beginning. because every product or idea claims to be the best and can make you thousands of dollars right away.
I’m not here to tell you that Affiliate Marketing is easy because it does require some consistent and focused effort. But by following some basic steps, you can begin to build a lasting, profitable business.
Affiliate Marketing In simple terms is You, sending traffic to a sales page through an affiliate link that the merchant provides for you in advance. If one of those people buy, then you get a percentage of the sale. Most commonly anywhere from 25- 75%. Everyone wins.
You can Choose to send your traffic directly to the sales page or, what I recommend is sending them to a Squeeze Page and ask them for their name and email address in exchange for giving them some kind of special report that will help them with the subject of interest.
Either way, getting started with affiliate marketing has a low barrier to entry and is not complicated. So if you are contemplating on starting an online business, affiliate marketing is a good place to start.

anything that might compromise the trust you are
building.

can establish you as an expert and can be picked up
by others and distributed across the net.
Video Marketing is becoming more and more powerful
with YouTube surpassing Yahoo as the 2nd largest
search engine.
Capture part of that market by making simple 3 minute
videos about the product your promoting,and upload
them immediately.
Affiliate Secrets #5: Start a Blog
A Blog can bring you great traffic to your squeeze
page. And you don’t have to be a great writer to have
your own blog. So don’t let that scare you.
The search engines love blogs because they are mostly
text and can easily be crawled by the search engine
spiders.
They are easy to start and the more daily posts you
make the more traffic you can generate. At the end
of each post, have a call to action and a link to
your squeeze page.
Affiliate Secrets #6: Don’t Forget About The Upsell.
After someone opts in to your newsletter, they are
typically sent to a thank you page.
Smart marketers use this Thank You page to make an
offer. I recommend you start with a low price ebook
that would be of interest to your market.
Many times if someone buys once they will buy again
if they are in a “buying mood”. You should therefore
offer those buyers another offer that’s slightly
higher in price. And again a 3rd offer if they
purchase again if you choose. With each offer giving
more and more value.
By doing this you are monetizing your list
immediately and raising your value per subscriber
tremendously.
Affiliate Secrets #7: Test and Track.
Testing and tracking your traffic generation and copy
conversion is critical to your long term success
online.
An easy and free way to get started with this is to
use Google’s Analytics and Website Optimizer. they
can give some tremendous insight into your online
marketing.

So Thanksgiving day is coming upon us. I love this day because it gives us a reason every year to reflect on the previous year and notice, on purpose, all the blessings we have in our lives.
It’s very easy to forget how blessed we are when we are surrounded by blessings every day. You tend to forget they truly are blessings and end up takeing them for granted.
But every year I like to write out my top 10 things I am most thankful for, And I ask my children to do the same. This gives me a positive perspective on my life and hopefully not to take them for granted.
This year my top ten are…
- My family is in good health
- My children are doing well in school
- Thankful for living in the United States Of America.
- I am able to work from home and be home when my children need me.
- Thankful we only had minor damage to our house from hurricane Ike.
